The Audition Workout!
This is a 1-Day Hands-On Workshop open to beginner and intermediate actors that want to brush up on your auditioning skills.
Class is limited to 25 students to allow plenty of individual performance time.
Performance class covering the 2 basic types of Auditions: Prepared Reading & Cold Reading. We will also be covering 2 additional audition styles: Monologues & Group Reading.

Auditioning and still not booking roles? This class is designed to help you see what areas you may be lacking in your performance, so that you can begin booking larger roles.
Never been to an audition? Taking an audition class helps you know what to expect behind the closed doors, calming your nerves, and allowing you to perform at your best.
Auditions make you nervous? Audition classes help you gain confidence in your performance so that you can leave your jitters at home!
Taught by Casting Director, Katrina Cook, owner of KatzKasting. Why take a class from me? I see anywhere from 60-80 actors in a single day of auditions. It can be tough to compete with those actors who do this professionally. If you need to step up your game, and take your auditioning to the next level, try this class. You can learn everything there is to know about how to audition, but if you never put it into practice, it really doesn’t help you much!
This class will be set up just like a real audition. Only difference is, YOU will be given the opportunity to watch and learn from all of the other students performances. In a small & intimate setting you will take turns going through the audition process over and over reading various scenes that you have been given to prepare beforehand.
Then it’s time for the Call backs! Extended scenes, and various direction given to test your flexibility in the role.
And don’t we all love the surprise of being asked to read a script that you have never seen before? Well, we will be doing Cold Reading during this workshop as well! Get handed a script, look at the lines for about a minute and then perform the scene brilliantly!
This is a PERFORMANCE CLASS which means that it will be “hands on” performing over and over the various types of audition styles, including re-reads with direction, cold reading, and with a partner. You need to come to this workshop already having taken an Audition skills class, or with the knowledge of what to do to prepare for an audition. We will go straight into the performance aspect without touching on things that need to be known prior to an audition. You will need to bring your professional headshot, resume, and a prepared 1-2 minute monologue, as well as the sides that will be emailed to you 1 week prior to the event to give you time to prepare. We will work on your audition skills, confidence level, presentation, as well as prepare you for callbacks. We have found that by watching others “audition” you are able to improve your own performance.
This class is appropriate for ages 11 & up. I have scenes for minors available. Parent may attend with child for $40 (includes lunch).

Registration fees are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another person for the workshop. Class is strictly limited to 25 participants. Parent may attend with child for $40 (includes lunch). Non-registered guests are not permitted into the classroom area.

Include how you plan to pay: You may pay in full by paypal (credit or debit card) or by mailing a check or money order. The payment option is only available through paypal. (request an invoice, or send full registration fee to katrina@katzkasting.com through paypal via SERVICES.) Add a note as to the name of the person this is to pay for, as well as send an email with the person's age range, gender, and note if the paypal payment came from a different email address or name than the one registering for the class.
· If you want to request an invoice, include your paypal email address, or if you do not have a paypal account, you may still pay through paypal using a credit/debit card or e-check. Make sure your payment is made by the cut off dates to qualify for any discounts.
Registration fee reserves your spot in the class. This fee is non-refundable, but transferable to another person in this specific class if you are unable to attend once payment is made. This class is limited to 25 participants, and if you don't show up, you have taken the spot away from someone else, and left us one short for our reservation. We are no longer able to offer transfers to other classes, unless I am the one who cancels the class.
