Character breakdown
Jeff McGeorge (present day) – Male, Caucasian, 40's (can play younger). Guitarist in a Rock Band, although not very good. Actor must be able to play guitar at least a little bit. A male in his early forties, salt and pepper hair, scruffy and unkept with rugged good looks and an olive-ish complexion. Also must be able to look like a twenty-five year old version of himself. Jeff, while talented does never had the IT factor and has had to work very hard to be the musician that he became. Jeff was great at promoting the band and always wanted the fame and fortune that he assumed would ultimately come. That was the past, now he is angry and bitter.
William McGeorge – Male, Caucasian, early 20's. Jeff’s younger brother is a male in his early twenties, handsome, takes after his mother with lighter hair and more fair skinned. William is a naturally gifted muscian, singer and songwriter. He has the IT factor but cares nothing about it, he just wants to be the best father, musician and person he can be without all the fan fair. Portays a rock musician, but does not actually play in the film.
Vaden Lee – Female, Vietnamese (or similar), 50-60s. An elderly Vietnamese woman, pretty with a wise and glowing face in her mid to late sixties. She carries a mostly southern accent with a hint of Vietnamese.
Buckley – Female, Mid-30's, Caucasian, or latino. A cool, cute, punky, pierced and tatted woman in her mid thirties, smart with nerdish leanings, Buckley owns a bar and plays roller derby in her time off.
Mr. McGeorge – Male, Caucasian, 45-55yrs. The McGeorge patriarch, he and Jeff are similar physically. He’s worked for the city most of his adult life.
Mrs. McGeorge – Female, Caucasian, early 40's. The McGeorge matriarch and a teacher. She is a lovely, pretty southern woman in her early forties, with a noticeable accent.
Homeless Dude – Male, mid-thirties, dirty and a drug addict.
Jerk Dude – Male, Caucasian, Mid 30’s-40’s. Former frat dude, now a pharm salesman in an expensive suit. Out of control when he is drunk.
Pastor Cogburn – Male, Mid 40's-50's, southern pastor, but not so much fire and brimstone. Warm and intelligent with genuine love in his heart.

VIDEO AUDITIONS: (using sides below)
We will accept Video Auditions for this film, as long as they follow the guidelines below. Deadline for video submission is Monday, OCT 10 @ 5pm. No exceptions!
Prepare to Video:
It does not have to be professional! You can take it at your home, with your video camera (preferred) or iphone (if no other options exist)! Please just follow these specs:
- Well lit (no shadows on your face)
- Against a solid wall- preferably a light blue wall or other light color, white if only no other option exists (no distractions – dogs-kids-tv-etc- in the background)
- Make sure I can hear it good, no yelling or no whispering... with no noise in the background
- Start off with a full body shot (distance) , then zoom in to a head/shoulders view for the slate “Hi my name Is – and I am reading for – “ and stay zoomed in for the duration of the audition
- Prefer to have someone reading with you (who is NOT standing behind the camera – too loud!) They need to read softly and without expression. If you can not find someone to read with you, just PRETEND they are reading (do not do both roles) and be expressive and responsive to their statements.
- The most important thing is to react to the other person in the scene with you. Not OVER-react, just subtle, express yourself using your eyes!
- Film it twice, and review both, and send me the best one. (Do not send me both!)
TO SEND YOUR VIDEO:
- Please upload to a video share site (youtube, photobucket, vimeo)
- You can title it whatever you want, to keep it unsearchable by the public
- Do not set it as private, not only will I be looking at it, but others from production.
- Do not send me the file as an attachment, zip file or yousendit package. This takes too long to download and open, tends to get lost on my computer & makes it more difficult & time consuming to send to other parties. Much easier and more efficient to upload to the share site as mentioned above.
