Character Breakdown:

Charles Henderson: Lead, $500/day + 15% Agency Fee (5-7 days)

  • Age: 65 | Gender: Male | Ethnicity: Black

  • Description: Charles is a wise, tender, and spiritually grounded elder with a terminal illness. A fixture in his neighborhood, he spends his final months sitting outside with a hand-painted sign that reads: “Stop and let’s pray about it.” Charles isn’t preachy—he’s profoundly kind, full of dry humor, and anchored in deep conviction. He becomes a father figure to Jess, shepherding her gently toward faith without judgment. His scenes are intimate and moving, requiring an actor with subtle power and heartfelt presence.

Jess (Jessica): Lead, $500/day + 15% Agency Fee

  • Age: 19-20 | Gender: Female | Ethnicity: White

  • Description: A young woman with long red hair, porcelain skin, and freckles. Jess is a complex, emotionally layered 19-year-old woman in recovery from opioid addiction. Smart, sarcastic, and wounded, she masks her deep pain with a tough exterior. Throughout the story, she journeys from a place of shame and isolation toward transformation, learning to trust again, wrestle with faith, and confront her past. She’s raw and real—never a victim, always fighting for meaning. This role requires dramatic depth, emotional vulnerability, and a grounded authenticity that captures both grit and grace.

Xavier: Supporting: $350/day + 15% Agency Fee

  • Age: 21-22 | Gender: Male | Ethnicity: Black

  • Description: Xavier is charismatic, funny, and deeply sincere—a Bible study leader with heart. He walks the line between playful and profound, often breaking tension with humor but dropping spiritual truths with passion and clarity. Xavier is protective, flirtatiously charming, and emotionally intelligent. He forms a tender connection with Jess that never feels forced. The actor must balance comedic timing with genuine heart and a sense of real, lived faith.

Raya: Supporting: $350/day + 15% Agency Fee

  • Age: 18-20 | Gender: Female | Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Middle Eastern / Multiracial

  • Description: She’s a musician! Would love to find someone who can play the guitar and sing. Raya is warm, wise beyond her years, and deeply rooted in her Christian faith. Gentle yet strong, she serves as a mentor and spiritual sister to Jess. Raya carries herself with grace, emotional insight, and a quiet strength that disarms those around her. She’s a musician, a listener, and a leader in her own right, despite being young. The actress must be capable of deep empathy, natural warmth, and moments of soft but commanding spiritual clarity.

  • Age: 20-22 | Gender: Male | Ethnicity: White or Ethnically Ambiguous
