Project Type: Industrial Short Film Promo for CIY’s Superstart event
Storyline: A frightened young boy finds himself trapped and alone in a deep pit. His journey from despair to faith becomes a powerful story of redemption, rescue, and discovering his true identity.
Union Status: NON-UNION
PAY: $750/day (2 days)
Total Compensation: $1500 + Travel (Rate Includes Agency Fees, If Applicable), Buyout
Lead / Symbolic Protagonist
PAUL (Male, 10–14) – Paul is a quiet, relatable young boy who awakens trapped in a deep pit surrounded by the word "ENEMY" carved into the walls. Frightened and alone, he desperately struggles to escape before crying out to God in frustration, fear, and desperation. As hope fades, Paul learns that rescue comes not through his own strength, but through surrender and faith. This emotionally driven role requires a strong young actor capable of conveying fear, vulnerability, desperation, relief, and wonder with authentic expression. Paul's journey is a powerful visual representation of moving from shame and isolation to friendship with God, making him the emotional heart of the story.

USAGE: Industrial. This short film will be self distributed & used as a Promo for CIY’s Superstart tour. Promo will play as part of a worship experience at CIY’s National touring Preteen event, Superstart. Some of the images from the filming could also be used on our social media pages to promote the resource.
TRAVEL PROVIDED.
Travel (Flight or Rental Car) + Lodging + up to $250 for food/gas expenses
TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT: CIY to cover flights/ rental car + will reimburse travel costs up to $250. This can be used towards gas, ubers, food.
INCLUDED: Lodging (1 hotel room) during filming, 2 meals and craft services day of filming, You will self-report to set (drive or uber).
⚠️ Casting Note: This project contains strong Christian and faith-based themes, including direct references to God, prayer, scripture, salvation, and a symbolic representation of a relationship with Jesus. If you are not comfortable performing material with a strong religious message, please respectfully decline this audition.
